So H atom attached to the oxygen can easily depart as H+. CH3COOH Is a weak acid and does not completely dissociated in aqueous solution. when it dissociates in aqueous solution it gives out CH3COO- and H3O+ ion. so it gives out only one H+ , hence its basicity is one .
