Explanation:

The main aim of this experiment is to test the presence of starch in leaves.In order to test the presence of starch we should make  sure that the leaf looses its color[removal of chlorophyll]So we should boil leaf in alcohol.Please  make sure that you do not directly boil the leaf in alcohol.Because alcohol have low boiling point and burns the leaf.So you should boil the leaf in a test tube filled with water over alcohol.
