at sea level the blood vessels exert a pressure equal to that of the atmospheric pressure but as the altitude increases and hence the atmospheric pressure also decreases however , as the pressure in the blood pressure still remains high , due to this force toward the walls of the blood vessels , they tend to burst , usually it is internally or in the form of nosebleeds .
