Why do bullies always pick on weaker Individuals?

In terms of violence, bullies don’t tend to bully on their own. They tend to have a peer group in which they want to show off in front of. The purpose is to show how much better they are than others, to their friends and people around them. This is often why being bullied is humiliating.
Bullies will also pick on students that aren’t weaker than them in other senses. If a student is academically more gifted than the bully it naturally highlights what an idiot the bully is. A bully can’t tolerate that, especially if attention is taken away from the bully. A bully may start trying to make that person look socially isolated, often trying to intimidate others into not liking that person.
