Mostly because of the length of their trachea.

If you study acoustics, you learn about how the pitch (or resonant frequency) of any column of air is dictated by the length of the column, and the diameter of the column.

There are all kinds of compilations, like pipes that are open at both ends, vs pipes that are open at one end only, vs pipes that are sealed, but that's beyond the scope of this discussion.

Other factors determining the pitch of someone's voice is the presence (in the case of males) or absence (for females) of testosterone in the body.

Testosterone causes the muscles in the trachea (what we colloquially refer to as the voice box) to harden, and this also had an impact on the resonances within the trachea.

HI DEAR FRIEND,

women and children have high pitch voice than men as they have shorter vocal chords as compared to men..in women and children these chords are approximately 15mm long and in men it's 20mm long and we know that both have a larynx of equal width..this implies that women's and children's vocal chords are more stretched as they are shorter as compared to those of men and produce a sound of greater frequency hence producing a shriller voice..

Hope this helps☺️☺️
