Coastal Areas experience moderate climate because of the following reasons:

  • During day time , the land becomes hot much faster as compared to the sea. As a result, air above the land becomes hotter and rises upwards.

  • This leads to sea breeze blowing from the sea towards the land

  • In the night time , the land becomes cooler much faster as compared to the sea. As a result , air above the sea remains hotter and rises upwards.

  • This leads to land breeze flowing from the land towards the sea.

This moderates the climate in the coastal areas.

Coastal areas have moderate temperature because

  • The land takes in and gives out heat very quickly when compared to sea.
  • During the day time  cool air comes to the land  and heat from land go to sea.
  • After sunset cool air from the land goes to the sea and heat from sea go to land.

Hence this is keeping the temperature moderate in the areas of the coast.
