Why do coastal areas of tamil nadu receive rainfall in winter?

during winter ,India is under the influence of North -east moonsoon winds which blows over bay of bengal and during this period, they collect a lot of moisture and strike the Eastern ghats .As a result,coastal areas of Tamil Nadu receive rainfall in winter.

during retreating monsoon , north east winds blow through bay of bengal . as they r dry winds they take moisture along with then and shead all when strike with eastern ghats . so tamil nadu receive rainfall in month of oct -nov .
