Covalent compounds haveweak forces of attraction between the binding molecules. Thus less energy is required to break the force of bonding. Therefore covalent compounds have low melting and boiling point.

Covalent compounds are weaker then ionic bonds because they form by sharing electrons. So they have low melting and low boiling points.
