Why do crops needs to be irrigated more frequently during summer

Due to heat, the evaporation rate of water from the surface of the soil is higher in summer season. Also, transpiration occurs faster during summers and also does the evaporation of water from the surface of the leaves. Hence to fulfill the water requirements of the plants, they need to be irrigated frequently during the summer season.
