Desert plants take in CO2 ( Carbon Dioxide) in the night and absorb it from the atmosphere since their stomata remains closed during daytime. And in the daytime they make use of the absorbed carbon dioxide and use sunlight in the presence of chlorophyll and water for the process of photosynthesis

becoz it needs water and in desert areas there is not much enough water that is y it take up carbon dioxide to perform photosynthesis..
