Temperature is the main factor for this.
This temperature when high helps the seed to grow faster increasing its metabolic activity and breaking the dormancy but when temperature is low the reverse situation is observed.
This is the reason different seeds take different amount of time to germinate. THE MAIN FACTOR IS ( TEMPERATURE )
