Answer: Dried raisins do not have any liquid composition in them before being kept in water. On putting them in water, the raisins endure the process of osmosis according to which, water flows form a medium of higher concentration to a lower concentration. and thus, water fills up the dried raisin and it swell up.

Explanation:

it is because of osmosis, water move from high concentration to lower concentration

a dried resin have lower concentration of water or absence of water, therefore when you keep dried resin it swell up, due to presence of water in it by osmosis
