Electric wires have plastic coatings on them called insulators to prevent us from accidently electric shock. Plastic being bad conductor of electricity doesn't allow electricity to flow through our body and protects us from electric shocks. Mostly wires have these insulations. If non-insulated wires are being used in homes, may be hazardous for life and may lead to fatal.
