Ions in an electrovalent compoundexhibit strong forces of attraction between the ions and are bound to each other very firmly. As a result, electrovalent or ionic solids have high melting and boiling points as a large amount of energy is required to break the attractive forces.

Electrovalent compound have high mp bp because they were held by strong necular attraction so they required more energy to break their bond.
