why do evergreen in forest always appear green​

They look green because the trees don't synchronously drop all their leaves at one time so they are always green (evergreen). Some trees are deciduous, they extract nutrients from the leaves in anticipation of severe conditions such as freezing temperatures which would injure the leaves.
