Answer:

Due to inertia of rest and motion.

Explanation:

inertia is the property of an object in which it tends to retain its state of motion or rest.

So, when the bus is in motion, the body

(object) is also in motion but when brakes are applied the bus comes to rest and as the lower part of the body is in contact with the surface of the bus, it comes to rest immediately but the upper part of the body takes time as it tends to retain its inertia of motion. Hence, we fall in the forward direction. Similar thing also happens when the bus accelerates except the fact that the body tends to retain its inertia of motion.

Thank you! :)

It's all about Newton's first law of motion

which says that "Every body continues in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled by some external force to change that state".

So when bus starts to move our legs change their state rest to motion with bus but our head remains in rest , For which this kind of incident happens.
