Actually leguminous crops fixes nitrogen due to the presence of rhizobium bacteria.

What happens is that when a farmer have to grow one crop after another the quantity of nitrogen required deplinishes rapidly so they grow a leguminous crops between two crops so that the nitrogen used would be fixed again and there would be enough quantity of nitrogen for proper growth of crops.

HOPE IT HELPS.

legiminious crops have rhizobium bacteria in their roots due to which th

ey have to convert airic nitrogen into eatable proteins which is absorbed by the plant and it is shared by the other plants present near it ..this is also known as mixed cropping..
