Ploughing is meant to cut open the soil and turn the soil for better aeration , controlling soil borne pathogens , nematodes, weeds etc . Levelling is done after ploughing so that the uneven land condition after ploughing can be evenly levelled for uniform distribution of irrigation water , easy and efficient seed sowing as well as interculture operations.
