Why do fish and frogs lay eggs in hundreds whereas a human produce one in ovum

Fishes and frogs need medium as water for their reproduction so their gamates are prone to the various aquatic organisms.

so in order to compensate the loss of gamates , they release them in a large number.

Fish lay a large number of eggs because only a few of them, out of thousands, will be fertilized and produce a fish. This is because they are fertilized outside of the body and are highly sensitive to temperature changes and external factors......
