Fishes dies when it comes out of water because its features are adapted to be inside water.

Fishes have gills for breathing. These gills are in the shape of flippers and their movement allows air rich in oxygen to come in and go out and thus fishes can breathe. When we take a fish out of water the gills/the flippers are not able to open as they open and close in water only.therefore the fish is unable to breathe. It dies due to this suffocation.
