• We store food items in polythene bags believing that it would stay ripe for longer hours forgetting that it would be exposed to the chemical components that are present in polythene bags.
• It also stops the food items in getting enough air from the surroundings.
• So that they get easily rotten by the microorganisms and few pathogenic fungi species.
