Food item stored in plastic bags does not come in contact of atmosphere. Plastic does not rot or decompose easily. Hence, in turn it protects food stored inside it from rottening. However,it is avoided to keep eatables in plastic bags as it is harmful for health

ANSWER:

The reason for rotting of foods that are been stored in polythene bags is that, those bags restricts the food items to get the enough atmospheric air needed for them.

EXPLANATION:

  • We store food items in polythene bags believing that it would stay ripe for longer hours forgetting that it would be exposed to the chemical components that are present in polythene bags.
  • It also stops the food items in getting enough air from the surroundings.
  • So that they get easily rotten by the microorganisms and few pathogenic fungi species.
