Why do gases have neither of fixed shape nor a fixed value?

The molecules in gases are very apart from each other. Therefore, gases neither have a fixed volume nor a fixed shape.

For instance as in solids, it has a fixed shape and a fixed volume because the molecules in a solid are closely and tightly packed together.

And in liquids, it has molecules which are a little apart from the others. Thus, a liquid has a fixed volume but no fixed shape. It takes the shape of the container it is put in.
