Why do gases neither have fixed shape nor fixed volume ? Can you give any example to show this characteristic of gases.

The molecules in gases are very apart from each other. Therefore, gases neither have a fixed volume nor a fixed shape. For instance as in solids, it has a fixed shape and a fixed volume because the molecules in a solid are closely and tightly packed together. It takes the shape of the container it is put in.
