Gold and platinum are not subject to too much oxidation as they occur in nature. Most of the 106 elements in the periodic table of elements exist freely in nature. One element that rarely occurs in nature is aluminium. It is a component of bauxite and has to be extracted with high voltage electricity

Elements like Gold, Silver etc are occur in their free or native states because they do not get OXIDISED with the AIR.
