HCl and HNO3 etc show acidic characters in aqueous solution because they dissociate/ionize in water to produce H+ ions. Whereas, compounds such as alcohol and glucose do not dissociate in water.

Answer:

this is because HCl and Nitric acid give Hydrogen Ions in water .glucose and alcohol do not dissociate in water to give Hydrogen ions. For acidic character presence of Hydrogen Ions is the must .hence glucose and alcohol do not show acidic behaviour
