Heels crack in winter because of contraction of tissues and muscles in winter. Lubricants provide softness and humidity to skin muscles. At bedtime I use Dry Feet Foot Care and i put a lot on and then put a sock on.

Answer:
In winter we wear socks and closed shoes due to which our feet lacks the moisture. This decreased humidity results in the cracking of heels.
By applying lubricants, the heat can be retained and the dryness can be overcome. These actually help to prevent the heels from cracking by keeping it moisturized in winter.
