why do herbivores have longer number than small than carnivorous ?

Herbivores needs to digest more protein therefore the have long number of instestine as compared to carnivore which help in breaking of protein into its simple form

I think the question must be : why herbivorous have larger small intestine than carnivorous .

The answer is :

Carnivorous animals eats meat which is easy to digest and in other hand herbivorous eats plants which contain cellulose which is hard to digest since carnivorous like tigers have smaller intestine than herbivorous
