high rise buildings have broader base because as they are so tall and high the center of gravity of the buildings lie not middle of the building....
as we know that base is broader the center of gravity is lie in the middle of the buildings that ensures the strength of the basement of the building also... and the buildings will not destroy easily when there are storms and tornodos.... to over come this problems the base is built broader for high rised buildings......
