Answer:

It is important that the historian uses a wide range of sources because all sources have strengths and weaknesses that make them more or less useful. You should consider whether a source has relevant information but also how that information is affected by the source's reliability, or nature and origins.

Explanation:

The usefulness of a source varies according to

what the historian is investigating. So when you are

evaluating a source’s usefulness, you need to have

a clear idea of how the information in the source

relates to the historian’s enquiry.

For this section of your course, a historian might be

interested in:

 ideas from this period about what caused

illness and disease

 approaches to public health and the

prevention of disease and illness

 how changes in society influenced

medicine and public health

Answer:

Historians require sources to understand history better. Sources give them a lot of information about the past. Sources are very informational because they were written/created at the time the event occured or took place. Sources are important to historians to make sure claims have a basis. For example, manuscripts about a king. The manuscripts contain the detailed information about the life of the king, his administration, his achievements etc. Another example of a source could be a monument. Monuments also have information written on them. These help the historians study the past with proofs. However , the information may or may not always be true.
