Answer:
Explanation:
Not living an eventful life. Whatever people go through is eventful one way or the other, but by comparing with others life or comparing with the possessions of others - people seldom notice the great things that they experienced in their own life journey.
2). Fail to notice and enjoy the small things and beauty around us in everyday life. People have a tendency to postpone happiness.
3). Risk taking — those who take risks are much more satisfied with their life than others.
There are many more reasons for people to aspire for immortality. But if one genuinely questions oneself— why the need for immortality ?. The reason is “unfulfilled desires”. Just like every tech stuff— the desires also have shelf-life. The idea of revisiting the past and reliving the past with the desires fulfilled is the reason for wanting immortality. It’s best to leave the expired desires in their state itself.
The sad truth is that “human beings have painfully and boringly long lifespan”. Human beings should ‘go’ at the most by age 50, before one losses the physical and mental health — the world would be lot more joyful and there will be less destruction.
The idea of doing the same thing again and again for decades is what is actually scary. For most, once they cross age 40, (in the Indian context) and may be 50 (in the western context) life actually becomes repetitive, less eventful and boring (the famous midlife crisis) — People are immersed in the cycles of worldly affairs, cursing and repenting everyday.
It is surprising that despite all these many people still aspire for immortality, to do the same thing again and again for centuries, instead of just decades !.
In my personal opinion it is really scary to live like Mr. Warren Buffett — doing the same thing for many years, despite having access to the best of resources. With such resources one could have been a serial entrepreneur creating 100s of start-ups. Most of board members of the Fortune 500 companies are quite similar to Mr. Buffett.
For the mortals immortality is a foolish pursuit and for the immortal it is the truth, it is indeed the true existence.
We all are immortals indeed ! - realizing this takes eternity.
