According to me humans dream as the brain needs to be alive and if it does not work continuously then we will die. A brain work when we see or think.During sleep we don't see or think so the brain makes us think something which we call dream.Sometimes we think we have not seen a dream but we see.It happens like that when we don't want to see but it autopilots itself to run it without showing us.
