Sailors who breath their last on their duty in any part of the ocean are not directly burried under the sea, they are stored and taken aback.
The only case when they would be burried is when it would be difficult to bolster back the hero.
Burial in sea is more of a relegious belief than connecting it with the Navy. It's only in the US Navy where burial in sea most often takes place.
Osama bin laden’s body was also thrown in the sea so that the burried place could not become his shrines.
Some relegions does support the sea-burial even the hindu relegion supports sea-burial,but only after the cremation is done and then the ashes are burried under some holy water bodies.
