Heya friend,

☆☆☆Why do India use standard meridian time?☆☆☆

Here is the answer:

1) From Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh there is a time lag of two hours. And cause of this the time along the Standard Meridian of India (82° 30' E) passing through Mirzapur is taken as the standard time for the whole country.

2) The latitudinal extend influences the duration of the day and night as one moves from south to north.
