Insectivorous plants generally grow under conditions of persistent and heavy rainfall. Essential nutrients present in top soil leaches away and plant left with little nutrients to take up. So, plants have evolved the strategy to compensate this nutrient loss by feeding on insects. Plants able to fulfill their deficiency of nutrients if any, by feeding on insects. In India, they are mostly found in north-east part. Important examples are Pitcher plant, bladder-worts, Venus flytrap, etc...
