Why do Insectivorus plants traps insects when they can prepare their own food?

The insectivorous plants also known as carnivorous plants such as pitcher plant, Venus flytrap etc. also contains chlorophyll inside them ,hence they are able to prepare their own food ,but they grow In such soil where mineral contents such as nitrogen & other minerals is very low. therefore the photosynthesis does not fulfil their minerals contents .Hence to meet their minerals requirements they catch insects and suck their juice to fulfil their needs.
