Ionic compounds do not conduct electricity in solid state because ionic compounds in solid state has no free electrons. All the electrons are packed together tightly..

IN SOLID STATE IONIC COMPOUNDS CANNOT CONDUCT ELECTRICITY BECAUSE IN SOLID STATE THERE ISN'T ANY FREE ELECTRONS TO MOVE .
