bcoz ionic compound formed by the interracial bonding with two or more atom hence they are bonded together to form a compound and it breaks on high temperature

Ionic compound have high melting point because they are made of positive and negative ion so there is more force of attraction between them due to this more heat is required to overcome force of attraction so they have high melting points .
