why do ionic compounds have high melting point

swashri27: due to they have high intermolecular force
swashri27: between them
sagar10031: because the intermolecular forces of attraction in ionic bond is very high thats why ionic compounds have high melting and boiling point
sagar10031: mark me as a brainlist
swashri27: LOL

ionic compound have high melting point because the force of attraction between their atom is very strong and to overcome this force high energy is required .

ionic compounds generally have high melting point due to strong inter iconic force between them. and considerable amount of energy is required to break the inter ionoc force between them hence they have high melting and boiling point...
