Why do Japanese Buddhists visit graves on festival days?

THEY VISIT GRAVES BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT THE DEAD BODIES ARE STILL A PART OF THEIR WORLD AND TO RESPECT THE BODY...AS A SIGN THAT THEY STILL REMEMBER IT.
