why do landslides occurs in place where deforestation takes place?

because roots of trees hold the soil which get loose when they are cut.

because roots of trees binds the soil particles together and don't allow land to slide in the deforested area no trees r there to hold the soil together so the soil gets washed away with water and results in landslides
