Gardeners can feed their families and enrich the soil by growing legumes, such as green beans, soybeans, lentils and peas. Legume roots produce their own nitrogen, which is a major fertilizer nutrient needed by all plants for growth. ... The bacteria take nitrogen from the air and convert it into a form the plants can use.

here is your answer

Legume crops doesn't require enrichment because=

1)They have nitrogen fixing bacteria in their root which live in symbiotic relationship with the plant root .

2) These convert the atmospheric nitrogen into soluble nitrates and nitrites that a plant can take for its development.

3)So a plant get all the nutrition it need due to the bacteria.
