why do liquid have mostly lower density than solid? what would be the effect of (i) temperature and (ii) density of liquid on the rate of diffusion?

liquids have lower density than solids because it has less intermolecular force of attraction . the spaces between the particles are bigger as compared to solids. i-on heating liquids, it will expand , the kinetic energy will increase and ii- rate of diffusion is Gasser when temperature is increased because of more kinetic energy.
