In solids, the molecules are very closely arranged .Hence having lessintermolecular space and strong intermolecular forces . This makes thesolids hard and to possess highdensity. This is why liquids are fluids ( can flow) and have lesser density than solids .

Answer:
Liquids as we know, have a lesser density than solids because the intermolecular space (space between molecules) is more and intermolecular force of attraction is less (because of being loosely packed and far away from each other).
