the molecules of liquid are loosely packed. they are free to move compared to solid molecules. solid molecules are tightly bounded by strong force of attraction amoung particles as they lie extremely close to each other. therefore it is hard for solid particle is move too far from there mean position. thus this don't allow solids to show diffusion.
