Respiration as generally mentioned is referred to the exchange of O2 and CO2 but it is actually more than that and the exchange of these two gases are but a manifesatation of respiration
Respiration is essentially yielding out of energy from food inside cells, it can be of two types aerobic and anaerobic based on presence of absense of oxygen
As far as organs are concerned then one should note that respiration is a seperate process which occur in every living cell, what does take organs to perform is the gaseous exchange which is called as Breathing, there is a major difference between the two
