Some Marine animals migrate to other water bodies. But however oxygen is dissolved in water so the animals can breathe and survive deep in the ocean.

Heya !!!

Here's your answer !!!

During winter , the temperature of the lake water decreases much below 0°C ...

Due to this the top most layers of the water in ponds gets cooled and becomes denser and they sink to the bottom ...

At the same time , water at the bottom which is lighter goes up and after sometime gets cooled and comes to bottom . This process continues till the entire water in lake gets 4°C ...

When the top layers cool further , their temperature falls below 4°C , it expands and becomes lighter . It doesn't sink to bottom and remains at the top...

With further cooling , the top layers gradually form ice at the top . Ice and water are bad conductors of heat . So the lower layers are protected against freezing by the layers of ice and cold water at 1°C , 2°C and 3°C . This results water remaining at 4°C at the bottom of the lake..
So that aquatic animals can survive in those layers of water....

Hope this helps you :)
