Why do melting and boiling increase in a homologous series with the increase in molecular mass? ​

The cause of the gradation of (all of these) properties is a systematic change in intermolecular forces. The number and strength of these forces increase as molecular mass increases, which increases the boiling points and melting points.

it is because in a homologus series as we go from left to right one electron is get added in the same shell due to which the atomic mass of elements increases so it need more energy to boil and melt so as we go in Homologus series the melting and boiling point increases
