metals conduct electircity whereas non-metals do not conduct electricity because
metals have free electrons in them and the electrons can flow easily whereas ion electrons there are no free electrons so there cannot be any flow of electrons
as electricity is the flow of electrons only metals can conduct electricity
the only non metal which conducts electricity is graphite
