Monarch butterfly cannot survive without milkweed. The caterpillars i.e larvae is the only time where they require a lot of vitamins . So, they feed on milkweed plants and they also need milkweed to lay their eggs.

Milk weed flowers provide food for adult butterflies.  In flowering times, They provide fuel for  butterfly breeding and migration .
