Why do moss produce very large amount of male gametes?Provide one reason.What are these gametes called?

moss plant produce large no. of male gametes to increase the chances of fertilisation as the eggs are located in the archegonium and these male gametes have to swim in water to reach the eggs for the process of fertilisation to occur

these male gametes are called sperms or antherozoids
